Love u to whoever's reading this story!
“Ugh! Thank GOD! Classes are always so dang boring in the beginning of school!” Manny yawned loudly. “Please Mandy; you never even paid attention once in any of those classes!” I rolled my eyes, typically Mandy never even liked to pay attention, her social life was more important, and she always says that she’ll live off of daddy’s money! “Who would pay attention? The classes are a snore!” she continued, “Well have fun at practice, don’t fall too much!” “Thanks Mandy, for your support,” I scowled at her only making her laugh. I threw my practice shirt on that I bought freshly from the store and threw on my new leather cleats! Pumas, my favorite! I know this is going to get admiration! Well I guess soccer is not for looks though, but then there is the boys practicing next to us, which would mean Josh, my cheeks grew red, blushing at this very moment, then again it is so immature! I brushed the thought off as I ran to practice. Short breaths, if I am late coach is definitely going to let me have it, breathe, breathe Bailey. The field is so close! My heart fluttered as I saw Josh, but don’t look at him, oh he is cute! Focus, the wet dew slowly inched its way to my cleats, ah the feeling was relaxing, and a notice that I arrived at Blairwhickhe Fields! Every time I could smell the suns rays shine on my face as I run freely and feel the green grass’ teardrops that my feat absorbed from the dew, but it feels like I’m walking on water! The schools watering system comes on early all the time, one of my coaches pet peeves, usually I don’t mind it’s easier to move with, like slide tackling. “Dreamer!” I looked around to see my coach pointing at me, “nice for you to join us, Bailey!” I tried to image her as satans spawn but that job was for my mother maybe she can get the job as the anti-christ, hmn that would suit her well, “ Sorry coach, um school got out of hand for me, with you know sign ups for history club and what not!” I smiled. “No worries! We all know how it feels, but today is just coming out for a warning!” A warning, what was she on? And she’s smiling, now I know why I am called a dreamer, this must be some sort of good dream, so when is the part with Josh coming to play with us? “Girls before introductions, what we are going to do is play with the boys team! This year we will work together to pace up our speed and work together equally!” Okay, weird. I looked around making sure this is for real, I looked at coach, looked at my teammates, of course Kelsey is scared out of her wits, puberty has not hit her yet, poor girl! “Dreamer!” Whoops, “yes coach? “ “Just wanted to see if you’re paying attention, instead of going into la la land like you usually do!” Yep this is no dream here she’s going to lecture why, what, how I am a dreamer. Stupid nicknames. “Okay to start off we will introduce!” Right when dreams hit rock bottom it gets worse, I look at the circle of girls introducing themselves as the patterned ball reaches them, one by one they are called with their nicknames, “Bailey Gesley, Dreamer!” I pass the ball to anyone, not paying to close attention ‘till I hear the ball that drew out a name, “Vanessa Arosety.” The girls looked at her and looked at the coach for some explanation, including me. “That is all welcome each other back, and welcome Vanessa, and in time Vanessa you’ll earn a nice little nickname! Or end up with not having one,” we all look at Kelsey, the benchwarmer, we tried playing her but she threw a nice little petulant fit! She cried, and faked an injury even though the closet player to her was the goalie. We looked at the boys they ran to us and we chose to scrimmage, both coaches, single of course watched on the sidelines, first practice means we choose to do anything we want! Coach Warren blew the silver whistle, as we kicked off the ball, oh God! It definitely shows we didn’t train in the summer. I kicked the ball up as the boys got it but I saw black hair run by me and attack the player, completely fouling him, but what do I care? The boys were shocked of how a girl got to the ball first; actually they look a little mad. Josh swung at her with his body shouldering her but she brought the ball back making him fall to the ground. Nobody ever faked him out before, girls gasped mouths wide open, and Vanessa passed the ball to Kelsey as Kelsey assisted her up the field creating a wall on either side. She scored! We all screamed and ran to her, we drew back remembering that we had to mark a player; the goalie punted the ball and she went for it as well as Aaron. She ran as she juggled it, she passed the ball to the nearest girl then our goalie Madison came out Vanessa played her in as the boys called out, “GOALIE OUT!” The shrill whistle drew our attention but not everyone’s we heard the coach call, “game ended 3-0,” but we watched Josh and Vanessa battle for the ball beads of sweat dripped down her face so she’s not afraid of some sweat got to hand it to the girl, she can play! The coaches’ whistles went off and Vanessa kicked the ball out to get Josh off her. The coach yelled practice, time, when, where, how team work makes precise perfection, but we just looked back at Vanessa who seemed to be the only one paying attention with that she grabbed her bag and left. “You can leave now boys, girls!” We grabbed our stuff, “dude that girl killed you out there!” Josh smacked his head, “at least I played, you were to busy standing there!” “Dude everyone was standing there watching you and Aaron’s butts get ran over by!” The boys started laughing and Josh looked at Aaron, “thanks man!” “No problem!” David laughed smacking the guys’ backs, “guys, Eric’s right! You guys got smoked out there by one girl! A girl!” The girls looked up, giving him those, “oh no you did not say what I think you said” looks, and Ryan laughed until he realized what he said, “Oh shit!” as he looked at the offended girls team and ran, while half the girls team ran after him. I know they weren’t mad, probably chasing him for kicks! |
